Two brothers. Both sides of the wall.
Two brothers from Hawthorne who lived both sides of the wall, and have spent 30+ years turning that into a room where people can tell the truth.
We are not experts. We are proof.
Serafín Serrano
Serafín Serrano grew up in Hawthorne and served time in the California Youth Authority. He has spent 30+ years doing this work, most of it without a dollar attached, because somebody had to. When he walks into a room full of young people, he is talking to his younger self.
Silvestre Serrano
Silvestre Serrano came home seven years ago and has worked with youth and returning citizens across the Inland Empire and Orange County ever since. He is the one who has been on both ends of the phone call, the one waiting and the one calling.
Between us, that is 30+ years and one shared conclusion. Nobody gets free alone.
